C. Ritchie Bell, professor emeritus of botany at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and founder of the North Carolina Botanical Garden, is coauthor of "Manual of the Vascular Flora of the Carolinas" and "Florida Wild Flowers and Roadside Plants".
