On April 4, 1958 in Chicago (IL), Debra Denise Dent was born to Charles and Marian Norman Dent. Debra came into this world as a premature two-pound, three-ounce baby girl fighting for her life. Intuitively, she was determined to survive -- against all odds. Her parents separated very early in their marriage, so Debra, her mother and younger brother lived with her maternal grandmother. Her grandmother's unconditional love has been the firm foundation that proved to be a great source of strength during Debra's troubled teen and young adult years. Despite declarations from certain family members
