I was born in Dublin Ireland on 6 February 1972. My father was an alcoholic and despite all the lessons I should have learned, I followed the same path and battled various forms of addiction for 22 years of my life. My drug of choice was cocaine. I have been sober since 24 September 2006. I currently live in Durban, South Africa and I counsel addicts and facilitate an addiction support group. I find addicts misunderstood and parents of addicts vulnerable. Through my own experiences and the experiences of others I hope to reach out to those who find their world torn apart by addiction.
