Kurt Barry Mayfield was born in Leamington Spa in 1958, the son of a soldier in the British Army. A few years ago, Kurt found out from his mother that in the 1970s her father had written an account of his WW1 experiences. It was an old A4 diary into which he had pasted his writings, drawings and pictures. Kurt then transposed and edited the manuscript for publication.
