Zoltan Bartok was born in a small village of Hungary in 1949. His father, a forest ranger, joined the 1956 uprising and landed in prison after Russian tanks crushed the revolution. With his father's "crime" showing on his record, he seemed to have no future in Hungary. After his escape from communism, he settled in the USA where he had a difficult start working odd jobs for a few years.
