Alan and Barbara were strongly convinced after conversion to Christ in high school that God had prior claim on their lives. God guided them to study theology, linguistics, missionary medicine, dentistry and tropical diseases. They applied to a mission* requesting to be sent to the Amazon. They gladly stayed raising their five during those early years. After twenty-four years in the Amazon, God led them into radio and other modes of communication.
