Nona Burroughs Babcock is the daughter of a school teacher and farmer. She grew up on a farm near Frederick, South Dakota; attended a one-room grade school; moved to Montana as a teen; married and was blessed with three children; graduated from Weber State University, Ogden, UT; and retired from the U.S. Forest Service. She is passionate about writing; other interests include gardening, cooking, playing the accordion, knitting and sewing.
