Aune, Bruce

Bruce Aune is Emeritus Professor of Philosophy at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. The recipient of a Guggenheim Fellowship, a Fellowship in the Center for Advanced Study in the Behavioral Science, and other honors, he has published more than ninety scholarly articles and reviews, contributed to such collections as Philosophy in America (1965) and the Encyclopedia of Philosophy, and published six previous books: Knowledge, Mind, and Nature (1966), Rationalism, Empiricism, and Pragmatism (1970); Reason and Action (1978), Kant's Theory of Morals (1980), Metaphysics: the Elements (1980),
