Cassandra Arnold qualified as a doctor in Australia and worked for many years in assorted Emergency Departments, where humour is often as necessary and as black as a strong cup of coffee. She now lives in Canada with her partner and an indoor worm farm, and works with the humanitarian medical organization, Doctors Without Borders, mainly in Africa. Medicine continues to fascinate her as a window into parts of people's lives that usually remain unknown. Her book, "My Sister's Child: tales from the humanitarian frontline" will be available soon.
