Charlotte Albina "Lottie" Aikens (1868-1949) born in Canada and a graduate of Ontario's Stratford Hospital, was a widely known nursing authority. An Army nurse in the Spanish-American War, Miss Aikens was an educator, supervisor of nurses, and director of Sibley Memorial Hospital in Washington, DC.
