Indran Amirthanayagam, of Sri Lankan origin, writes poetry and essays in English, Spanish, and French. His works in English include THE SPLINTERED FACE, Ceylon R.I.P. and THE ELEPHANTS OF RECKONING, which won the 1994 Paterson Poetry Prize. His poems have been published in numerous magazines and journals in the United States, and his translations of Mexican poets Manuel Ulacia and Jose Eugenio Sanchez have also been published. He is a diplomat in the US Foreign Service and is currently based in Lima, Peru.
