Dean Allen's association with South Africa began in the 1990s and developed further during his postgraduate studies at Stellenbosch University in the Western Cape. He has since taught at leading universities in South Africa, Australia, Northern Ireland and his native England, and he has published extensively in the areas of sport history and sociology. Dean is a popular guest lecturer and speaker and has presented keynote papers around the world.
