Thomas E. Alexander is the author of four books on Texas military history, one biography, one novel, and co-author with Dan K. Utley of three additional works on military history. His first book, The Stars Were Big and Bright, Vol. I, was named Publication of the Year by the San Antonio Conservation Society in 2001. His fourth book, The One and Only Rattlesnake Bomber Base, received the prestigious Rupert Richardson Award from the West Texas Historical Association for being the best book on West Texas history in 2006.
