Alder, James

Born in 1945, Newcastle Upon Tyne, James was the son of a Scottish mother from Gourock and a father who was a famous naturalist and painter. His final accolade was to produce two major limited edition, illustrated books for the Queen and The Queen Mother. Dissatisfied with the direction of his career James emigrated to Australia returning in December, 1972 with a new objective in mind, and in the spring of the following year he set up his first fine art gallery specialising in 19th. and early 20th. century paintings.
