This is Hussam Al-Eskandarany's second small collection of poems in Egyptian colloquial Arabic, after his first "Kahil El-Ein." As the first, the only subject of the verses is homoerotic relations and situations. He uses a direct, shameless, and daring style in dealing with the sensitive and delicate issues of homosexuality, in a language which sometimes could be considered crude. This is unusual in modern literature, but reminiscent of the fearless style of Baghdad poets during the Abbasids era.
