"Ultimately, the On the Verge series is a story about dealing with trauma and loss. This is never an easy or pleasant task. As someone who has dealt with childhood PTSD and depression pretty much my entire life, I wanted to immerse readers in the realities of having to relive past traumas. On the Verge is truly an enormous metaphor for those experiences. Each and every character embodies a person or trait that helped me to make it through. They personify emotion and struggle. Like me, eventually, my characters will overcome what ails them, but first they must face their tragedies head on. And
