Deanna Quitugua is a long-time resident of the U.S. Territory of Guam. Born in Ohio, she moved to Guam in 1984 and has made it her home. She is a retired special education teacher who has worked with children with emotional disabilities, as well as with physical, mental and learning problems. Her late husband, Joseph, inspired Deanna to write this story. He was also an educator who shared his history, his culture, and his Chamorro pride for his island.
