Abeles, Ronald P.

Ronald P. Abeles, PhD, is a Special Assistant to the Director of the Office of Behavioral and Social Sciences Research in the Office of the Director at the National Institutes of Health. From 1994 to 1998, he served as the Associate Director for Behavioral and Social Research at the National Institute on Aging (BSR/NIA). Previously he served at BSR/NIA as the Deputy Associate Director (1980-1991) and Acting Associate Director (1991 to 1994). He received the National Institutes of Health Award of Merit twice for "leadership and contributions to the advancement of behavioral and social research
