This is the story of soldiers stationed in Yong Dong PO, three miles south of Seoul, and other places in Korea. There was no shooting or killing during this time (1953-1954). What did the soldiers do on their off time to pass the lonely days? There were clubs on bases where they drank too much. There were young girls who came to the towns near the bases. They came from farms, or lived in the shacks nearby. There was no work for the heads of the households unless they could find jobs on the bases as cooks, houseboys, barbers or laundresses to serve the military. Book contains an eight page gallery with over 30 photos taken by the author of some of the book's main characters and locations.
