This lovely little book was almost lost to the world before I decided to rescue it. I know of only two of these still in existence, the one I have and one other. There are of course, possibly a few more out there, but it is still a rare book. It is not a history of early wireless, though it is in it's own way. It was actually written in the early days of wireless by someone who was there at the time, with hands on experience of the latest equipment of the day, new developments, the latest research, and of course, all the faults and problems that had to be overcome. When we look back at the old equipment of that time, we maybe think, "How Primitive" or "How Crude" or "How Simple," but to these people it was a brand new and exciting science. They could see, even way back then, the possibilities and benefits that this new technology could offer to the world, and they strove to improve and develop their equipments and understanding of this new science. These days a lot more is known about the science of wireless, and equipment, although more complex electronically, is easier to use and manufacture. Although we know so much more these days, it is amazing how much they already knew way back then, even into the 19th and 18th centuries. Reading this book gives you the sense of how it was then, as it was written at that time and is not a historical look back. All the book is here, nothing has been removed, only some additional material added, so nothing has been lost.
