We will all face tough times, adversity and tragedy at some point in our lives. Resilience is the key to being able to move through these difficult periods and focusing on key, intentional strategies is critical to becoming a victor rather than sinking into the mentality of victim. Knowing there is something good that can come from even the worst situation, Erica reflects on eleven practical and inspirational lessons she learned along her seven year journey. Erica's formal contemplation of life began in 2007 with her late husband Jim's diagnosis of neurological chronic Lyme disease at a time when she was raising a toddler and pregnant with her second child. Her reflection continued as Jim became more and more ill, eventually unable to breathe or move on his own, and continues today with mourning his death. Regardless of whether you are facing the loss of a relationship, job, or friendship or having trouble with finances or other issues, Erica's insights on where to focus your attention and how to pull out from your tough time will leave you stronger and full of hope. Erica offers thoughts on a variety of subjects, including making the most of words, focusing on actions, and seeing the bigger picture on the role that a crisis can play in your life. This book is a lovely inspiration to see the good in all things and a reminder that hope is a powerful force in anyone's life. Erica's two small children contributed to the book as well. Braxton (age 9) wrote some songs, a poem and offers insight on lessons learned. Annalise (age 6) was the illustrator. Other contributions to the book were made by Brian Etheridge who graciously allowed part of his eulogy to Jim be included in the book.
