This book set out to explore and understand the contextual factors (macro, meso and micro) that favour business success in Africa; it identifies the economic sectors of choice for successful investment; it describes the regulatory, normative and cognitive institutions that favour business. Investors are informed about why Africa holds a strong position as the second most dynamic region in the last two decades, despite having a weak manufacturing sector; the reasons for this are explained in the book.It also explains why and how at the ECOWAS level there are: 1) legal incentives for investment (FDI); 2) judicial security, sufficient to promote entrepreneurship at the local level with the aim of generating jobs for young people and, as a measure, to mitigate irregular migration. Finally, it explains what we need to know to better manage the business culture and modus faciendi of the population and the host countries of entrepreneurship. It identifies the seven RECs in Africa and explains why ECOWAS is one of the most dynamic.
