After my first marriage ended in divorce and contracts were established for me to be able to see my first son Masahiko Wayne, as of September 6th, 2004 my former wife Makiko Kikuchi has continually refused to allow me to see my son. She even went into hiding and refused to inform me of her new address as of January 2005. I was only able to find out the new address by consulting a lawyer who aided me in obtaining this information at city hall. Although my former wife who studied and graduated in law (believe it or not) from a prestigious university still refuses to abide by the contents of the contracts and continues to renege on the the second contract that was established at The Hachioji Family Court of Tokyo. Since there is very little that can be done in regards to my situation, since certain authorities are unable to enforce their legally binding contracts or simply cannot or will not, I have decided to help others (including the Japanese themselves) to become more aware of what actually happens when you divorce from a Japanese spouse when children are involved and what little say you have in the matter should you not be granted custody of your child(ren).
Should you have custody overseas of your child(ren) and your former Japanese spouse were to decide to return home with them, you then join the group of what little say you have in the matter as well. Japan is a country that supports parental abduction from a national as well as an international perspective. Japan is the only G-7 country that refuses to become a signatory to The Hague Convention in regards to Child Abduction. They may also psychologically try to intimidate you to keep quiet by threatening to take legal actionagainst you should you do anything that could possibly bring public shame and/or embarrassment to the party that refuses to follow a contract by continually reneging on it. Your former spouse may even request the help of the police to try and force you to sign a statement in a foreign language that you cannot comprehend in order to get their way and thus proving your guilt. The list goes on and on but I'll leave it at that...
