Mahaffey, Cynthia Jo Cynthia Mahaffey is an out lesbian, a mother, a feminist, and a college instructor of first-year writing and women's studies at Bowling Green State University, Bowling Green, Ohio. She has been teaching for 20 years, the last 10 in a living/learning community with an office in a student residence hall. She loves her son and her students.
