When a mother has to pay for her son's wedding and her daughter's summer school in Copenhague, she decides to leave her pride aside and ask for help from a man she hasn't spoken in 25 years. The daughter's boyfriend unintentionally unveils a decision that has been kept secret for almost a lifetime. Some annoying playboy tries to interfere and gets his butt kicked out of the story. Vintage is a story about the generation gap in post-communist Romania. The digitally educated youngsters are willing to study abroad and take advantage of all the opportunities life presents them with. Before the 1989 Revolution, their parents were denied all such opportunities and they learned to concentrate on what seemed more urgent aspects of life: making a living, earning respect through social status and giving the impression that they cheerfully complied with the limitations that the political system enforced. Nowadays, the young expect their elder to quickly share their enthusiasm and embrace the new. On the other hand, they seldom take the time to really understand the cultural and personal background of their parents. When put in perspective, things are not so black and white anymore.
