This book aims to Identifying the Counseling needs and self-esteem for the basketball Junior players and Constructing a selective Counseling program to fulfill the Counseling needs and developing self-esteem for them. The population of the research was represented by the Junior basketball players affiliated to Al-Omaal Club in Mosul city. The number of the sample subjects was (14) players representing (63.63%) of the original research population (22 players). The sample was divided on equal basis and on random basis using lot into two equal groups and each group consisted of (7) players. The researchers concluded that the selective Counseling program constructed by the researchers have great effect on fulfilling the Counseling needs and on developing self-esteem for the sample. The researchers recommended that using selective Counseling program is necessary to facilitate the future works of the researchers and coaches in order to construct similar programs which tackle the psychological preparation for athletes.
