The present study entitled, "Stability analysis and molecular characterization of different genotypes of blackgram (Vigna mungo L.) was conducted at two locations with three different dates of sowing at Pulses Research Sub-Station (PRSS), Samba and Advanced Centre for Rainfed Agriculture (ACRA), Dhiansar of Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Jammu during kharif 2021. Analysis of variance revealed the presence of high genetic diversity among thirty genotypes of blackgram (Vigna mungo L.). Genetic components of variation have exhibited high phenotypic coefficient of variation (PCV) value as compared to genotypic coefficient of variation (GCV) for all the morphological traits on pooled basis. High heritability, high genetic advance as percent of mean were observed for all the biochemical traits except zinc content indicating that such parameters are governed by additive gene action and direct phenotypic selection can be used to improve these traits. Thirty genotypes of black gram were subjected to molecular characterization using fifteen SSR markers.
