Dr. Arnab Jana is Assistant Professor at the Centre for Urban Science and Engineering and Associate Faculty at Centre for Policy Studies, Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, India. He works in the area of urban infrastructure policy and planning, primarily focusing on public health policy, application of ICT in urban and regional planning, sustainability & environmental issues. He has been Visiting Faculty at Hiroshima University, Japan, in 2016. Dr. Jana holds Ph.D. in Urban Engineering from the University of Tokyo, Japan. He was awarded the prestigious Monbukagakusho Scholarship by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science, and Technology (MEXT), Government of Japan. He is also an alumnus of Asian Program of lncubation of Environmental Leadership (APIEL), University of Tokyo. Dr. Jana holds a Master's degree in City Planning from IIT Kharagpur. He has guided several doctoral and postgraduate students and has authored numerous peer-reviewed articles in peer-reviewed journals and conferences and books.
Dr. Pradipta Banerji is Professor of Civil Engineering and current Head, Centre for Urban Science and Engineering at Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IIT), India. He is also Former Director of IIT Roorkee. He has more than 35 years of academic and research experience. He has a B.Tech. degree from IIT Delhi, and M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from UC, Berkeley. He is a member, Fellow, and Chair of several committees and professional societies across the world. He has developed many popular courses for working professionals in the field of structural engineering and urban sustainability. He has supervised theses of around 70 Master's and Doctoral students at IIT Bombay, and has more than 100 research publications, books, and reports. He has delivered some of the most prestigious national lectures of professional societies in India, and several Keynote lectures in international conferences and symposia. He is the India representative on a few international academic and research networks.
