Roads are central to socio- economic development and poverty alleviation. Economies and Society depend heavily on efficient roads. This study assesses the Provision and Management of Road Infrastructure in Adama City. The general objective of the study is to assess Road infrastructure provision and management in Adama city. An exploratory research method was employed. The method of data collection includes field observation, structured interview, and field-survey. Data is presented using statistical tools: percentages, bar charts and tables. It is analyzed in terms of percentage, figure and ratio. Findings of the study include the prevalence of poor institutional set up and poor infrastructure provision and management practice. The study also identifies some of the institutional challenges. The study recommends improvement in the area of institutional set up, and Road infrastructure provision and management practices.

Kokebe Yifru(Lecturer Adama University)-Kokebe obtained his Bachelor's in Construction Technology from Adama University. He joined Adama University as a Technical Assistant in 1995 and, following successful accomplishment of his Masters in Urban Management with specialization of Urban Infrastructure Provision & Management,became Lecturer in 2009.
