This study aimed to analyse the management of university sports at UFOP from the perspective of athletes participating in university teams. To this end, a qualitative, exploratory and applied study was conducted, using the analysis of documentary sources and the application of closed and open questionnaires with team athletes to collect the desired information. The responses obtained were interpreted through content analysis and SWOT analysis. The results obtained seem to conclude that the University's sporting potential is evident, but it is necessary and urgent for UFOP to create mechanisms to assist and support competitive university sports.
