Life was much simpler before cellphones and computers. This is a story of three children who grew up in Southern California in the 1950's when television was the newest invention and was just beginning to shape the way we think. Ours was a good life in a world far different from today, where our uncharted journey still held all the promise of youth. Evelyn Blocker was born in South Dakota and moved to California a few days before Pearl Harbor and the beginning of World War II. She taught kindergarten for many years and wrote her first book when she was eighty-four. Her husband, Cliff, had just died after sixty-one years of marriage. Her first book was a series of letters written to him when he was very ill. Her books are wirtten for her family, as she believes everyone needs to know their roots and their history. This is her sixth book. Evelyn currently lives in Aapple Valley, California.
