With the recent developments in Syria the United Nations is once again making headlines. The failure to reach an agreement on a Security Council resolution demonstrates the continued problems in forging a coherent international response to crisis situations. It combines an examination of the power relations of global security governance, with the changing nature of peacekeeping operations.
