This book tries to find out the best management practices of sugarbeet to be followed to obtain highest yield and quality beet under Bangladesh based on scientific findings. More precisely, it deliberately comments about the optimum sowing date, spacing, nitrogen and potassium dose to be applied for sugarbeet cultivation in Bangladesh. The findings are based on the results of the experiments taking different growth, yield and quality parameters such as LAI, DM, CGR, RGR, NAR, Yield and Yield attributes, TSS, HI, Sucrose content. In terms of better understanding it illustrates the findings with easily understandable illustrations, graphs and tables. A handsome number of references on sugarbeet is accumulated as literature cited in the back part of the book. Weather parameters, physical and chemical conditions of soil and some pictures are added for better clarification and understanding. Moreover, a comprehensive package of sugarbeet cultivation method is mentioned in the materials and methods section of the book. The book is thus, useful for the researchers, agriculture students, extension workers and conscious reader who has some interest in tropical sugarbeet cultivation.

Dr. Nurul Kashem is currently working as Principal Scientist and Head, Training and Technology Transfer Division of Bangladesh Sugarcrop Research Institute. He has completed his Ph.D work on Sugarbeet from Banabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Agricultural University, Bangladesh. From 1989 to 2000 he has served in National and international NGOs.
