Trixie Triphammer's Magical Christmas: the plot Alone in her bedroom at night while her parents were Christmas shopping, little Laura Brown had a strange visitor: a female midget in a St. Louis Cardinal baseball uniform who entered her locked window without breaking the glass. She introduced herself as Trixie Triphammer and said she was here to enlist Laura's aid in saving all the turkeys from the ovens of Noddington, the little town where Laura lived. By a robust swing of her tiny bat Trixie was able to draw the frozen turkeys from freezers throughout the houses and stores of the village and send them flying--with their feathers and heads now intact-- to their homes on the farms. Laura and her golden retriever Goldilocks watched in awe, but were a upset when Trixie also confiscated all the Santa Claus suits, leaving their owners shivering in their boots and shorts on the village streets. Trixie wanted to get rid of the commercial aspects of Christmas, but the merchants of the town did not like losing business and, after capturing Trixie's magical bat, the police arrested her and charged her with robbing turkeys and as well as cut Christmas trees, whose roots she had restored before sending them back to their homes up north. What happens to Trixie when she is brought to the courtroom in a cat box is the climax of this delightful tale for children of all ages from nine to ninety.
