The book revealed the total number of the road infrastructure both paved and unpaved in the area. The greater percentage of the unpaved road infrastructure in the area this lead to poor accessibility of settlements and not good for socio-economic development. A critical assessment was done to determine the level of road transport development and the impact of good quality road on socio-economic development. A good number of text available in this specialty are foreign in nature the advantage of this particular book is that it carries local content, examples and empirical in nature.

Dr.Victor Umoren, is a native of Oko-Ita, Ibiono Ibom Local Government Area, Akwa Ibom State. He is a Senior Lecturer, in the Department of Urban and Regional Planning, University of Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria. He holds a Ph.D (2009) in Transportation Planning from the University of Calabar, Nigeria.He has over thirty-five academic publications.
