In the thirst of modernization and industrialization man has contributed pollution to the life and ecology of plants, animals and microbes. Increased demand for food and fiber has lead to the chemicalization of agriculture and we have reached on such a stage, that modern agriculture is dependent on high yielding varieties, which can only be grown under the influence of fertilizers and pesticides. The present study examines the effects of the synthetic pyrethroid pesticide, Lambda cyhalothrin on hematological profiles, some metabolites and enzymes of protein metabolism and histopathological changes in albino mice. This work is a modest attempt by the author towards an understanding the toxic potentials of Lambda cyhalothrin in different tissues of albino mice. This study is far from being comprehensive, yet the author remains hopeful that the present study would contribute useful information to the existing knowledge on changes in metabolic activities, cytoarchitectural changes of different tissues during Lambda cyhalothrin toxicosis.
