This book describes the effects of nitrate on animal performance and the methods of relief the negative effects. Nitrate is a worldwide problem particularly in the area with limited water supply and those depend on groundwater as the main water resource. Water resources can be contaminated by nitrate from bran and feedlot runoff, silage juice, nitrogen fertilizers, drainage and water effluents causing a serious problem to human and animal. High level of nitrate can cause diseases and many health problems. Antioxidants have proved to be a simple and convenient strategy that may effectively inhibit the oxidation reactions resulting from nitrate. This book focuses on effects of nitrate on animal performance and the methods of alleviating these adverse effects in order to improve animal performance and provide particular ways for reducing the adverse effects of nitrate.
