It is evident from recent literature that the operator would tend to force the instrument leading to instrument locking, deformation or separation. Different types of motors are used in conjunction with NiTi instrumentation. Air motors do not allow torque control and the variation in air pressure could affect the rotational speed and, consequently, torque. Whereas the endo motors, having control over the torque and speed, leads to reduction in the instrument locking, deformation and separation thus increasing the success rate of endodontic treatment. The aim of this book is to provide a detailed scenario about the basic science about the torque and speed, relationship between torque and speed & commercially available endodontic motors in worldwide and properties of those endo motors.
