The fire burned fierce for several minutes then began to die down, slowly at first then gaining speed until the fire was gone almost all together. Quickly the fire was out and nothing remained standing . . . . . . All that remained was a cauldron full of smoldering ashes, with glowing embers until they too went out. Thin smoke rose from the ashes as the last of the embers fought to stay alight until at last they submitted to nature and faded. The death sequence was complete.
