Valdeón is Professor in English Studies at the University of Oviedo, Spain, Honorary Professor at Jinan University in Zhuhai, China, and Research Fellow at the University of the Free State, South Africa. He is the editor-in-chief of Perspectives Studies in Translation Theory and Practice and the general editor of the Benjamins Translation Theory. He is a fellow of the Academia Europaea.
