This book covers the imaging of thoracic structures with focus on evaluation of lungs. Pulmonary conditions are the most common cause of mortality and morbidity worldwide with lung cancer and tuberculosis being the leading diseases in the developed and developing world, respectively. In the last few years there have been rapid changes in the imaging interpretation of lung diseases particularly imaging of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. However, updated literature is not available yet. This book bridges this gap and provides updated and handy information to the radiologists while reading chest scans. This book uses standard terms and lexicons to describe the imaging findings. There are 14 chapters in this book with the first chapter focused on imaging patterns and signs in thoracic imaging. There are more than 1200 illustrations covering both the commonly and rarely encountered conditions. The chapter on interstitial lung diseases includes the description of the hallmarks that would be useful in the diagnostic pathway of these diseases. This chapter incorporates the latest diagnostic categories of UIP based on CT patterns with pictorial examples. The book is edited to give more stress on imaging features and relevant clinical findings that may help in reaching the diagnosis. Wherever possible, the imaging features are described in tables for ease of memorizing. The authors have a special interest in chest imaging and each one of them has contributed their best for this book.
