So, the Iraqi army is destroyed and the Syrian army should be destroyed to reach the ruin of the Egyptian army. Further more the role of Putin Russia comes into life again . Russia has interests as well as Iran in Syria. Russia won't let the US the only player in the region, so, now, there is a balance of power and interests. From here comes the conflict of wills .
