The use of herbal medicines during pregnancy from other countries ranges from 7.0% to 55.0%. Although there was no reported study directly linking the use of herbal medicines during pregnancy and perinatal mortality, several studies revealed the adverse effects of herbal medicines to the fetus, which may lead to perinatal death. Currently, there is limited information regarding knowledge, attitudes and herbal medicines practice during pregnancy among Malaysian women as well as its association with perinatal mortality. This book reveals research findings on the prevalence and pattern of herbal medicines use during pregnancy among women in Tumpat, one of the districts in Malaysia, the association between knowledge on safety of herbal medicines, attitudes towards herbal medicines and the use of herbal medicines during pregnancy as well as the association between the use of herbal medicines during pregnancy and perinatal mortality in Tumpat.
