The freshwater gastropod Omphiscola glabra (pond mud snail) is known for its limited geographical range in Western Europe and the present decline in the number and size of its populations. Philippe Vignoles, Daniel Rondelaud and Gilles Dreyfuss are Associate Professors and Full Professor, respectively, at the University of Limoges, France. They have widely published on the ecology and parasitism of snails for 45 years.
