This research is about resettlement program implementation on ex-pastoralists livelihoods in the Somali State. The program was implemented in an effort to ensure food security and bring about rural development (National Coalition for Food Security,2003), The aim of the resettlement program is to facilitate resource rehabilitation in central Ethiopia, and provide poor peasants with a better livelihood. This study was conducted in the Somali Region, Ethiopia, especially in the Ber-ano district of the Shabele Zone. Quantitative and qualitative research methods were applied among others being frequency distribution, tabulations, inferential statistics such as Chi-square, Binary Logistic Regressions, focus group discussion, key informant interview, and observation, among others. Findings showed huge improvements to settler's access to the various social services in their area of destination (Resettlement area) such as water, health, education, and plots of land received per household.
