Planar nearrings are nearrings with the property that it solves equations ax = bx + c whenever there is some u such that au and bu are different. Starting from nine problems, ideas are formed and different combinatorial and geometrical objects are defined. These problems are solved when various properties of planar nearrings are developed. Wen-Fong Ke is Professor of Mathematics at National Cheng Kung University. Dr. Ke has published research papers in ring and nearring theory, and is interested in other areas as well. James R. Clay (1938-1996) was a Professor of Mathematics at University of Arizona who discovered planar nearrings in 1968. He inspired many researches in the area.
