"An extensive background to anxiety disorders in children is covered; it is rich in detail and evidence–based. Issues of epidemiology, classification and outcome predictors are addressed, along with the impact of comorbid disorders on the treatment and assessment of anxiety disorders. The authors provide a well–balanced discussion of factors related to elevated anxiety and the associated implications of these factors for treatment. This book is a great resource for the treatment of childhood anxiety disorders, with helpful, practical recommendations presented for treating children with anxiety disorders. (Child and Adolescent Mental Health, 1 September 2013)

As a clinician, practitioner and research supervisor, this book is a valuable source of evidence–based information that can be used in both clinical and research settings. It is a comprehensive source of treatment and interventions for mental health professionals, psychologists, psychiatrists and anyone working with children and adolescents. I would highly recommend this book to those who have an interest in or work with children and adolescence.   (BPS South Western Branch Review, 1 August 2013)

She has published more than 150 articles in either peer–reviewed journals or book chapters in edited volumes, and 12 books.

Anxiety disorders are one of the most common mental health problems in children and adolescents. If symptoms are left untreated, these problems can persist into adulthood and put a child at risk for the development of a variety of mental disorders. In response to the growing awareness of the significance of the problem associated with anxiety in children and adolescents, various intervention programs targeted at this age group have been developed in recent years. Wiley–Blackwell Handbook of the Treatment of Childhood and Adolescent Anxiety presents a collection of readings from leading experts that detail the most effective evidence–based interventions for the treatment of anxiety disorders in children and adolescents. Readings in initial chapters focus on issues relating to epidemiology, comorbidity, course, and risk and protective factors. These are followed by evidence–based interventions for all major types of DSM–IV and DSM–V recognized anxiety disorders, including separation anxiety disorder, social phobia, specific phobia, generalized anxiety disorder, obsessive–compulsive disorder, and PTSD. A final selection of readings addresses pharmacotherapy, prevention programs, and directions for future research.

Comprehensive and authoritative, Handbook of the Treatment of Childhood and Adolescent Anxiety is an essential single–volume resource for state–of–the–art information on effective treatments for anxiety disorders in children and adolescents.
