What you are holding in your hand is sort of an amusement park cloaked in a big red circus tent with a scary sounding word on it. The word means different things to different people so it will take different amounts of bravery to purchase a ticket. Once you redeem it though, you will be in for a ride for sure. It is up to you whether or not you have fun at this park. There are many places to visit in the park, and people too. You will bump into some famous and not so famous celebrities; you will hear some stories about remarkable regular people, and of a chosen one. You will witness atrocities of the mind and a magical ascent to freedom. You may picture things you never considered picturing before, you may connect with this place on more than one level, you may laugh, you may cry, you may get too scared to go on some of the rides. What happens inside this tent is primarily up to you. We need to battle our fears; this is a healthy thing for us humans. There is more than one word written on the big tent. There are words pasted all over it. I can't tell you what the words are because they are your words. I challenge you to accept your fear for what it is, then march right in through the gates and join the show. After you have done this, at the very least you will come away with the satisfaction that comes from battling your fear. I want you to come away with more. I want you to come away with a contagious case of hope that you cannot be talked out of. I want you to come away with a different way of looking at your word, or words... Step right up and enjoy the ride There is a river in this world called I Don't Care. At either side of this river is a tributary called Why Should I Waste My Time? I Don't Care is a vast body of water separating topics of interest from the minds of people who would benefit from the pursuit and discovery of such knowledge that may exist on that distant shore. The Trouble With Diesel Fuel is a book that addresses the stigma that still exists with regard to mental illness, and makes an attempt to build a bridge over this river with a story that will be interesting to people who may not normally concern themselves with the material. I will be telling you about a tributary on the other side of the water which should help the people who live there who are directly affected by mental illness, but in doing so I hope I can at least draw some disinterested people on to the bridge for a moment. I find that sometimes when I choose to expose myself to something outside of my comfort zone there is a great reward out there. I exist on the fringes of sanity and madness and believe that I fit in well with the people who live on both sides of this hypothetical river. This book may be the translator or instrument to encourage people who have no interest in seeing, that they should be interested. After that, possibilities may exist which could draw some talent over the bridge no matter what side of the river they live on. This talent could change our world for the better. Are you talented? Lets find out together.
