After the random purchase of piece of property in the Appalachian Mountains, the unsuspecting great grandson of an early American pioneer discovers his mother's maiden name scribbled on the bottom corner of the plat. This is a true story. The story encompasses two monumental events. First, unprecedented documented supernatural activity leading directly to a bizarre archaeological discovery that will change the face of history. But, it's the backstory that's most fascinating."A debut book mixes an autobiographical account with a paranormal investigation of a property in rural Virginia. The story begins with Miller's decision to buy a house in a part of Virginia known as Clover Hollow. He was returning from a trip to the Coral Sea when he made the purchase sight unseen. Upon his arrival in Virginia, he was pleased with the risk he had taken, explaining how he discovered it was "a beautiful country house with a wrap around covered porch." More than mere beauty, the house had a profound effect on him, giving him the feeling that "Earth's natural energy" was emanating from the area. Moreover, the author soon learned that the house had once been owned by his forbears, and an old Native American trail cut across his property. Add into the equation odd-looking rocks and "bizarre supernatural activity," and the question became what, if anything, did it all mean? As Miller believes that "there are no coincidences, everything happens for a reason, and everything is connected," he proceeds to make his point with a combination of American history, views on extraterrestrials and ancient cultures, and stories of his personal experiences. The resulting stew provides a lot for the reader to savor. While accounts of Colonial Americans can be dry ("John Miller Sr, brother of Barbara Miller and uncle and friend of Jacob Mann Jr, also crossed over the mountains and settled on Indian Creek around 1775"), the many details of the author's life add up to a strangely intimate portrait. From his childhood spent exploring caves to his earning money as an Uber driver, the work shows readers a man who seeks to understand the strangeness of his own past and property. Although evocations of figures like the Japanese author Masaru Emoto may fall flat with skeptics, the book illuminates the journey of one man dating back to the arrival of his ancestors in the New World. While Miller admits his ultimate conclusions are "very controversial," they make for an imaginative attempt to explain the unexplainable."A multifaceted encounter with historical, spiritual, and personal worlds. --Kirkus ReviewsWinner Reader's Favorite 2016 International Book AwardsWinner 2016 Hollywood Book Festival Winner 2016 Beach Book FestivalWinner 2016 San Francisco Book FestivalWinner 2016 New York Book FestivalWinner 2016 Paris Book Festival

One of the most original and well-crafted books I've read in a long  time!” (5 stars) Cody Brighton--GoodreadsAfter a recent property purchase in the Appalachian Mountains, a historian navigates his family’s and the regions past to unearth an ancient civilization. The story is about the author’s quest to understand his family’s history and his purpose in purchasing an ancestral estate. As Miller wrestles with the coincidences of his life and his strong belief that nothing happens by chance, the history of the Appalachian Region of Virginia where he’s made his new home begins to reveal its secrets. Intertwined with Miller’s own discovery about his family’s past, artifacts are discovered on his estate and paranormal activity begins. While not violent or threatening, this activity launches Miller on a quest to understand the true history of his family’s land in Clover Hollow, a sacred river and dam complex rich with artifacts and history going back thousands of years. This leads him to similar well-trodden and unexplained supernatural activity around the world i.e. Peru, Egypt and New Guinea. The more Miller uncovers, the more he’s driven toward the belief that these events are all connected, and he is a crucial part. As paranormal activity in Clover Hollow increases, he knows he’s on the brink of a stunning discovery. Has he discovered the next Oak Island or Machu Picchu site in Virginia? Was there an ancient civilization on the site thousands of years ago?“This was a brilliant, engaging, and totally mind blowing book that completely surpassed my expectations and then some!” (5 stars) Jenna Brewster—GoodreadsWinner Reader's Favorite 2016 International Book AwardsWinner 2016 Hollywood Book Festival Winner 2016 Beach Book FestivalWinner 2016 San Francisco Book FestivalWinner 2016 New York Book FestivalWinner 2016 Paris Book Festival
