Scientists are optimistic that newly developed composite material having the amazing significant property of 'self healing' will find vast application in aerospace and power generation industry which rely on metal parts working flawlessly.

The author successfully completed his PhD in Engineering/Foundry from Polytechnic University of Bucharest, Romania, in 1985, on the scholarship offered by the Government of Pakistan and sponsored by Ministry of Education and Instruction, Romania. Recently he has been relieved from the post of Professor in Manufacturing Processes, Materials Science.
